Vinpro hosted their first Supplier’s Day on 16 November at Nederburg Wine Estate with the aim to create a platform for suppliers to network and learn more about Vinpro. We introduced them to our Consultation services, the Gen-Z project, Plant propagation from Vititec and WineMS software.

The GEN-Z Vineyard Project, a flagship initiative by Vinpro, has released its 2022/2023 report, reflecting on demos planted during this timeframe, upcoming new demonstration sites, as well as harvest and other constraints experienced.

With a network of mini-demonstration sites within commercial vineyards being the backbone of the GEN-Z Vineyard Project, this endeavour launched by Vinpro six years ago under the management of well-known and loved viticulturist Francois Viljoen and his team of viticulturists, is going from strength to strength.

The need for localised information that is beneficial to a broad range of producers is one of the major reasons for the initiation of the cover crop demos under the Gen-Z Vineyard Project. The cover crop demos are not scientific experiments, but are rather field trials set up to demonstrate to producers what works and what doesn’t under a particular set of conditions.
